The Luo Brothers- More from 798 district in Beijing

I have read about these guys back home in the states.  But to see their work in Beijing is somehow more meaningful.  They really take the piss out of it.  I love that all the work looks like ceramics, but is actually fiberglass.  With the crash of our western financial markets over the last 6 weeks--

Damn--I didn't get the name of this artist!

This was a crazy light installation at the Mullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing's 798.  I'm pissed at myself, I didn't get the artist's name.  Very cool piece.  It felt like some mind control torture room from a Mad Max movie. So simple-- just a tight metal mesh, a projector and a series of lenses moving and shifting the focus of the projection.  I dig it.

“One of the toughest losses I’ve ever been a part of,” Jets’ Brett Favre said.

Sebastian Janikowski bailed out the Oakland Raiders by kicking a  team-record 57-yard field goal with 2:30 left in overtime. Raiders nabbed a 16-13 victory over Brett Favre and the New York Jets on Sunday.  The media is ragging on Brett, saying that it was his worst game yet with the team--"Only one of Favre's first 17 completions went for more than 15 yards as he frequently checked down to his underneath options. He also had two interceptions and 124 yards passing before the game-tying drive at the end of regulation."

Ouch. I'm happy I am in China this week, and slept through the pain of watching it.  Reading it hurt's less.
