Why I am a Barack guy...

Barack bought IN-GAME ad's in EA's Burnout Paradise game.  Word has it he will also be in Madden 09 and Nascar 09 on XBOX live. Whoa! Any presidential candidate smart enough to buy IN-GAME ads in videogames, is a presidential candidate that gets my vote.   Okay, that is not and can not be the exclusive way to win my vote-- but it does show how clever and forward thinking Barack, and the team around him are.  NO nostalgia paralysis for the OBAMA camp! Savy.  And, according to a report by GameSpot, ads will appear in the battleground states of Ohio, Florida, Iowa, Colorado, Indiana, Montana, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, and Wisconsin.

Word has it that McCain also tried to buy ads in EA's Burnout Paradise game...but he came late to the party, on some "me-too" copycat shit. Who knows how true any of that is but I love this story...

L.B.P. is very good for the Gaming Biz.

"Little Big Planet" is an upcoming puzzle platformer  and world creation video game for the PlayStation 3.  I first saw it at ComicCon in San Diego this past summer-- and heard about it last year. It is being developed by British game developer's  Media Molecule and  is due for release on October 21, 2008.  This will be a huge success.  This is a very important game for the industry-- and really showcases the promise of user generated content in games.  This is the sort of game, that is so needed-- and I applaud Sony for breaking down the wall and publishing this.  If this was an independently developed and published game, retailers would look side ways at such innovation.  I like the vinyl toy aesthetic.

Michael Jordan vs. Larry Bird (SNES) Videogame! Remember?

Michael Jordan vs. Larry Bird (SNES) Videogame! Remember?  The music was so naive, but so great.  No one has business complaining about gaming graphics today.

NEW D.S.? But will they go big?

Nintendo is gonna' launch a new DS before end of year.  Took long enough.  To me, with Apple wowing us every 12 to 16 weeks, seems like Nintendo needs to speed it up on the hardwear iterations. What they really need to do, is go open source with their development code, and offer a licensce package like apple is doing with their development kits.  Can you imagine, DS competeing with downlaodable apps, to go against apples APP attack.
