Jitish Kallat 'Skinside Outside' at Arario gallery, seoul

This is so ill! The details are amazing.  I am off to China at end of week for this exact reason! So much art happening in the pacific rim...between China, HK, Seoul, Macau...etc.  The world is so small now.

arario introduces the young indian artist, jitish kallat's first solo exhibition in korea - 'skinside outside'
the show features works of 'mental agony' results of the artist's anxieties from the current indian society.
while kallat is conflicted between pop art and agitprop, he tries ;to solve the survival of human strife
and endless narratives'. mumbai, where the artist lives is a place where survival in its self is an adventure
and shows the extreme aspects of indian life, thus the city becomes a source of stimulation for the artist.
the exhibition is composed of paintings and sculptures, notably the the piece 'collidonthus' 2007
- a life-size model of a car that is constructed with bones (made from resin). the sculpture is influenced
by the burnt out remains of cars seen on the streets of india.
