Bailout? Bailout these nuts.
I do not understand all this talk of bailing out the auto industry. Enough already. Full stop. Period. These characters and Pelosi are acting like a bunch of tools-- changing the rules on the fly and using the threat of the sky falling if they do not fix this mess. I do not care what your political affiliation is or isn't-- the rest of "the real world" does not operate this way.
The images attached are ones I grabbed in 30 seconds off of edmunds.com. These are some of the cars that GM makes. Beleive it or not, these images are for 2008 and or 2009 models. No these are not used car listings, or from 1998. They just look that way. That may be why GM is shitting the bed.
I am not a big car guy. I do own a Cadillac Escalade. I also own a Lexus truck. I have had to take my Escalade for service countless times. I have never, ever had an issue with my Lexus. Better is better. Better design. Better value. Better customer service. GM and Ford are failing because they blow moose knuckles...dig?
So many SKU's. So much inventory. No one has been buying for a minute. Now we here this-- and act as if it is a newsflash. We need to let this thing fall, so it can pick itself up--- old school style. Blood, sweat and tears will fix this and we will all be better for it. Check the laundry list of Mr. Potato Head makes, models and chasis of the GM line-up. Enough to make you want to regurgitate. Say word.

The top one is not made by GM by the way, it's made by Ford.
GM does still have a ton of crap cars laying around but in the past couple of years they have really stepped it up a notch. Take a look at the new CTS, CTS-V, Escalade, Camaro, Volt, Pontiac G8, the VUE hybrid, Cruze etc.
The problem with GM is they have lost touch with what the American Public want in a car: Design. In the American publics eye, what you drive is what defines you. I have never heard anyone say I want a Pontaic, Buick, Saturn, Hummer, Chevy Malibu, etc.
Their designs are the worst on the market and they almost killed Mercedes Benz. I say let GM die with, "No Bailout for you"
GM was still cranking out the Fleetwood about a decade ago when I was a newbie at an advertising firm who handled their Cadillac account.
In comparison, Japan's streets were already flooded with hybrids by then.
EPIC FAIL.
I was having this exact conversation today. The car business much like the music business has not evolved since the 60's. Archaic thinking and zero creative thought by the brass.
Imports and foreign cars just seem to last longer. I'm from Lansing, MI and I've heard a lot of stories about Brand New GM and domestic cars that are bought and break down within a few years. It's ridiculous.
All cars will breakdown eventually but it's about how far it can go before it does. My '97 Nissan Maxima lasted quite awhile and since I moved, I sold it while it still runs great. Bought it at 52,000 miles and I had it up until 170,000. Put that car through everything, Newspaper delivery, food delivery, work, school. Surprisely the only problem was oil leak. Other than that, the tranny hadn't die yet after all those years lol.
