Academy Award for best Actor goes to Floyd Mayweather...

Wouldnt it make sense? Now that he see's a potentially bigger purse against Pac-man, floyd happens to get a rib "injury"...and postpones (without a new date) the Marquez fight.

Great timing. From the associatted press...

Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s comeback has been postponed because the boxer suffered a rib injury while training.

Golden Boy Promotions said on Sunday that Mayweather's July 18 fight against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas will be rescheduled.

"I am extremely disappointed that this fight has to be postponed," Mayweather (39-0, 25 KOs) said in a statement. "I was training very hard and looking forward to getting back in the ring on July 18."

Marquez (50-4-1, 37 KOs) said in a statement from his training camp in Mexico that he was also disappointed.

"I will remain focused, in shape and ready to fight whenever the fight is rescheduled for," the lightweight champion said.

Details about Mayweather's injury were not immediately available. Phone messages left by The Associated Press with Golden Boy and Mayweather's promoters were not immediately returned on Sunday.

It was not clear how long the pay-per-view fight would be delayed.

Mayweather and Marquez were scheduled to fight at a catch-weight of about 143 pounds, eight more than Marquez has ever fought and the lightest weight for Mayweather since 2005.

Mayweather hasn't boxed since knocking out Ricky Hatton in December 2007. The former five-division champ was slated to fight a rematch with Oscar De La Hoya but instead abruptly retired last June, turning his attention to show business.

Now, many consider Manny Pacquiao boxing's best pound-for-pound fighter after the charismatic Filipino icon beat De La Hoya and Hatton in fewer rounds than Mayweather.

It is possible that Mayweather and Pacquiao will eventually meet in the ring if Mayweather beats Marquez first.

Lets be honest here that injury he suffer is bogus he knows it himself mayweather and richard shaefer had to come up with some what of an almost believable excuse to cancel the july 18th fight against mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez due to poor ticket sales telling you once againg that floyd mayweather is not a prizefighting superstar like pac-man is thats why theres now rumors that mayweather is going to challenge paquiao on november 11th instead of cotto. Miguel Angel Cotto proves again that he has the heart of warrior beatintg clottey a fighter whos been avoided by most welterweights and he defeated him with a very bad cut on his eye he suffer in the 3rd round of their WBO championship fight it just tells you about cotto lasting the whole 12 rounds. Tell me if mayweather or pacquiao would dare to get in the ring with the Terminator that cotto is. I believe paquiao now wll fight mayweather cause thats the fight casual fight fans want but not the hardcore boxing fans. Miguel Cotto will wait 4-5 months before he starts training again. Viva puerto rico!!!

I think Mayweather has some fear as Cotto could give him a bad evening.

Yawn, this type of b.s. is why boxing is dying you only have about 5 or 6 guys who can box and are willing to box anyone at anytime. You got boxers like roy j. and holyfield coming out of retirement to try and keep the sport alive ha, MMA is the sh$& and if you don't believe it watch nect months fight with 2 title shots former WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar vs ecko's Frank Mir and GSP vs Thiago Alves " and if you don't know now you know".

I like Cotto but lets be honest, the fight with Clottey was a gift. Cotto is very vulnerable. I hope he learned something from that fight and do better next time.

Mark Ecko, what do you do but get poor chinese to sew shit and then sell it to dumb teens for jacked up prices with your name on it?

First off the Pacquioa craze is going to unfortunately die just like the Arturo Gatti (who had much more upper body movement), Erik Morales, Antonio Berrera's of the world. The guy has balls that are as big as the Philippines but anyone that knows boxing knows that Mayweather will outclass him EASILY, and I don't care for the guy either. I also think that Mosley, Clottey, Cotto would also beat Pac Man. Pac Man has little defense and always leads with his head when punching, people love his fights but he's going to get lit up like a Xmas tree!

That Pub brawling moron Hatton could have beat him if he would have kept his head. But he's a moron that's a brawler and not boxer. I hate people who don't appreciate the science of boxing. They cheer the guys who brawl and get their face pounded in and are washed up by their 20th fight. People are constantly on Mayweather, but the guy boxes the way he does for a reason. He's no where near 5'8", has no knockout power, and breaks bones in his hands on a regular basis. How many guys do you know who are undefeated who have all of that against them?

If you want blood, guts, and gore with little skill, watch that MMA crap. Where guys are roided up and the matches usually last 30 secs.

I've never bought one Ecko product in my life, so don't take this the wrong way or maybe you should. I would challenge you to find one item of clothing on your body, product in your home, or software that you interact with that was not created overseas. What's the difference of making products in the US (e.g. American Apparel) and selling them to a bunch of sloppy gen-X consumers who's only sense of style is what they see the Jonas Brothers or some other random douche wearing.

Grow up!!! If we've learned one thing from the economic crisis, it's that paying a bunch of lazy, pompous, American Union Workers to pimp out the manufacturing industry is NOT the ANSWER!

While I'm not a fan of Mr. Ecko or his clothing, I RESPECT his work ethic and dedication to his brand. I don't see P. Diddy or LRG, personally blogging and updating their website about their products and travels.

We all have to create something in life, what the fuck are you C R E A T I N G?
