RE-FORM? How about RE-IMAGINE.

Check it out folks.

LET'S REDU from Redu on Vimeo.

If you can read this right now, pat yourself on the back: you're reading at a level higher than 70% of young people in America. Let that sink in.

This is what keeps me up at night. Like millions of others, I’ve been “Waiting for Superman” to come and fix our schools – but he’s not coming. If we want it fixed, we all need to don the cape, and jump in.

Starting tonight in New York City and running through Monday, you can help us confront the crisis that faces our ailing public school system. Come check out RE:FORM SCHOOL, a group art exhibition in an abandoned school (kryptonite-free) that shows off new works from some of this country's top visual artists illustrating the state of education.

Take a moment to peep the RE:FORM SCHOOL site at http://reformschool.letsredu.com

We've got a great group of artists to contribute to RE:FORM SCHOOL: Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Chris Johanson, Jo Jackson, Maya Hayuk, Gary Baseman, and others (including some of my own work).

We can’t stop with the art community. We need more people around the table on this one... broader than the inside baseball crowd. We need you. Check out this weekend's Washington Post op-ed “How to fix our schools: A manifesto by Joel Klein, Michelle Rhee and other education leaders” and you’ll read just that: “It's time for all of the adults -- the superintendents, educators, elected officials, labor unions and parents -- to start acting like we are responsible for the future of children. Because right now, across the country, kids are stuck in failing schools, just waiting for us to do something... [and] until we fix our schools, we will never fix the nation's broader economic problems."

We all have skin in the game. It’s time to RE:FORM SCHOOL.

Up, up, and away...
