Ever since Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) said that a remake is now off-- someone needs to jump on this one again. Shit they re-made the Flinstones and Land of the Lost, we can't let this lady rest! Barbarella is a 1968 erotic sci-fi film directed by Roger Vadim and based on the French Barbarella comics from Jean-Claude Forest. I remember seeing this as a kid, and I would get all horned up. It was bizarre. Weird. But erotic. If you haven't seen it, you are missing a real classic. The art, the music...the vibe, was so sick.
Rodriguez was planning Rose McGowann as Barberella. I wasn't feeling that casting selection. That is a little indulgent considering that is his fiance. If I re-did it, I'd want to see Olivia Munn, who I know could do the sexy naive camp thing. We know she has the frame.
Maybe Lindsey Lohan would be bigger news? Olivia would be more cred.

If I could of done it again, I would of taken Barry's ball and put a diamond encrusted asterisk on it. Get all Damien Hirst. 755 still stands.
